Hi. Thinking about attending the Midem music trade fair? Got questions, such as "Is it for me?" or "How much will I spend?" Well, throw your questions in here, and use the group to start your networking right now. The group is moderated by Michael Leahy, author of the "Cannes Starter Guide". But it relies mostly on you, your questions and opinions. Think South by Southwest is better? Tell us how. Eurosonic? By all means give a comparison. But with people coming from all over - including rising markets such as China, India and Africa - Midem is the place to network with the world. And don't think it's just about pimping music (which is an honorable ambition!). Midem is also where Spotify, Soundcloud and others were first noticed as part of the Midemlab sidebar. The major platforms attend (including the Chinese, Indian and African ones). So drop in and ask that big question you have always wondered about Midem. As you probably know by now, MIDEM 2020 was a strictly an online event. This gives people an opportunity to check what the conferences are worth. I really recommend following them, bearing in mind that they are only half of the event. A smaller Midem was held in 2023, with the promise of a all-new Midem in 2024. UPDATE: It's now nearly 2025, and Midem has partnered with Live Nation for what we hope is going to be a good show. See you inside.
