Born free in 1994, Poet Nkanyiso Mtshali also known as Musician Brillante hails from KwaZulu Natal in South Africa. Beside being proudly South African, he is the ultimate creative all-rounder and inherent branding advocate. He is also a writer, actor, choreographer, entrepreneur, photographer, filmmaker and a screen and on-air presenter. He is a storyteller by nature and music is but one of the tools he uses to deliver, send, pass, tell messages or stories. He preaches self-acceptance, confidence and staying true to oneself. He got into the arts industry when he was only 10 years old as he was in the school’s traditional dance and acting groups, he also made up his own films and would ‘play’ them for his mates using cut wood sticks or pens and pencils. Thereafter, he began writing real film & TV, music, poetry scripts and taught himself to write more than one genre and explored even more through his voice and body in many other forms of art. He has always been inspired by networking with like-minds and researching about the industry as a whole. In 2005 he started writing music, doing Karate and also got into street dance. He also started writing his own animated cartoon stories and would read it for his family and friends. He was known by every learner as he stretched his body like rubber. In 2006 he went on with the animation stories and street dance, dancing for a group he founded. In 2007 he started writing real movie/drama/series scripts, as was motivated by the acting projects they did at school. He wrote and directed stage plays for his classes groups through 2008 and 2009. In 2010 he joined Kwaito Music, House, Hip Hop and Poetry and recorded his first poem titled "UyenaLo" using his other name Nkanyiso Mtshali as his poetry stage name. He is both Film/Television Production & Business Management and Radio Production graduate, BriLLante has also won the INK Artist Of The Year 2014 Award followed by a lot of print and digital media coverage. He has always been inspired by networking with like-minded people and researching the industry as a whole. Currently, while he is working on his new Music, Poetry and Film/Video releases, he has also been recruited as a radio presenter at a community radio station called Voice FM.
