Some keep the Sabbath going to church;
I keep it staying at home,
With a bobolink for a chorister,
And an orchard for a dome.
I keep it staying at home
Some keep the Sabbath in surplice;
I just wear my wings,
And instead of tolling the bell for church,
Our little sexton sings.
I just wear my wings
God preaches, — a noted clergyman, —
And the sermon is never long;
So instead of getting to heaven at last,
I’m going all along!

Note: I was really inspired by this Emily Dickinson poem. She re-defines the concept of a “religious service” as spiritually connecting to the nature environment in her backyard.
My favorite line is the last one...
"So instead of getting to heaven at last, I’m going all along!"

You can’t take it with you when you go
You can’t take it with you when you go
Some people try but they don’t know… that you
You can’t take it with you when you go
The Pharaohs thought that they were pretty hip
They stuffed their tombs for the “Afterlife Trip”
But tomb robbers stole their treasure just for good measure… cause
You can’t take it with you when you go
The miser never has enough
He keeps on hoarding all his stuff
But when he’s about to die that’s when he cries
You can’t take it with you when you go
You can’t take it with you when you go
You can’t take it with you when you go
Some people try but they don’t know… that you
You can’t take it with you when you go

This is the land the sunset washes,
These are the banks of the Yellow Sea;
Where it rose, or whither it rushes,
These are the western mystery!
Night after night her purple traffic
Strews the landing with opal bales;
Merchantmen poise upon horizons,
Dip, and vanish with fairy sails.
