Born and raised in Lime Acres in the Northern Cape, Baker’s journey into music began at home. Inspired by his older brother’s sound system sessions and DIY studio environment, he developed an early fascination with how music is created, not just how it sounds. This curiosity became commitment. With the support of his parents, he received his first laptop and began teaching himself music production using Fruity Loops. What started as experimentation quickly turned into expression, and later into purpose. He co-founded the group Young Talented Musicians (YTM), where he explored performance, songwriting, DJing, and dance. The group built a local following, gaining recognition among peers and community members. After the group disbanded, Baker continued independently, sharpening his craft and evolving his identity. Musical Approach Baker approaches music as both therapy and storytelling. His songwriting process is rooted in real-life experiences, emotion, and observation. Rather than rushing expression, he allows ideas to mature, ensuring that every lyric carries weight and authenticity. He writes his own music and produces his own sound, giving him full creative control over his message and delivery. His sound can be described as: Soulful, intentional, and reflective Melodic yet message-driven Rooted in hip hop but not confined by it In a music landscape saturated with trends and surface-level expression, Baker stands as a voice of intention. Where many chase noise, he crafts meaning. Blending poetic lyricism with soulful, self-produced soundscapes, Baker creates music that feels both personal and expansive. His work lives at the intersection of Hip Hop, R&B, Soulful House and Amapiano, carried by melodies that invite listeners in while delivering messages that stay with them long after the song ends.
