Persönliches Profil
Juergen Reiter Juergen is an accomplished musician, composer and music business experimentalist (see Zen & the Art of Rockstar Living below). After studying music at Amsterdam Conservatory and SUNY Purchase Collage (Master’s Degree 2001), Juergen started the label ORkAaN Music+Art Productions to publish and promote his own work. Over the last 8 years, Juergen released 10 albums, organized and played countless concerts with musicians from Europe and the USA/Canada. Juergen’s talent is wide spread. He released Jazz albums as well as Hip Hop, New Music, Electronic Soundscape driven audiobooks and a series of audiobooks to help learn italian. His main focus since 2008 has been to revive his roots of Alternative Rock with Jazz and Spoken Word influences a’la Hunter S. Thompson, William Burroughs and Brecht. His concerts are a bouquet of ghoulish stories set in cabaret environments involving excessive use of internet and streaming technologies. In 2011 the new album “Music of Ghouls” plus two EP’s of works done for a film and a sculpture will be released. Zen & the Art of Rockstar Living As it became harder for Juergen to fit all his interests under one planket, he started to experiment with ways to do business and still be a fully dedicated artist. He quickly came across the 80/20 principle and since strives to adapt it to all his doings, business or music. First measures where taken in 2008 when he decided to run his business without an office to secure the ability to travel and keep work times as flexible as possible, work from anywhere and, most of all, eliminate unnescessary work. He maintains a pretty unorthodox lifestyle, travelling about 4 months a year (including wife and 2 kids!). Juergen has set up various music business related scenarios to test how new media can spark a musician’s carreer while at the same time help focus on productivity. Many of his enterprises fail but he tries to fail better with each next project. Zen & the Art of Rockstar Living was coined by Juergen for a feature he was given by Tim Ferris for the revised edition of his New York Times bestseller 4-Hour Work Week. Juergen currently works on a service for musicians and music teachers to boost productivity, musicianship and streamline the learning of music.
