Mac’s distinctive and compelling approach to film scoring infuses cinematic storytelling with vibrant new colors and dimensions. “I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t making someone happy, telling a story through music” After earning degrees from the University of Northern Colorado and Northwestern University, Mac began a career in music education, yet he never wavered in his passion for composing. As a skilled trumpet player, he crafted works for his instrument, as well as for concert band, choir, and symphony orchestra. Mac launched his film-scoring journey when his son, Monte, started producing short films. This collaboration quickly evolved, with short films transforming into feature films, and Mac ramping up his compositions. Together, in their roles as artists, father and son have made significant contributions to projects for Terrorfilms and James Cullen Bressack.
