Personal profile
A main stay in the music biz, Tre Carn was an early part of rapper / actor Ice-T's production team where he scored credits on several Warner Bros. and Priority Records releases. Most notably of which was a gold record for Ice'T's album, "Home Invasion". You can also hear Tre's voice on the hook of Ice-T's song "Big Gun" included on the soundtrack of the movie "Tank Girl". Tre would eventually launch his own label Ridiculous Records which introduced the underground rap group Silent Ones. One stand out member of the Silent Ones was Shafriq Hussein who would go on to produce the majority of Erykah Badu's album New Amerikka. The underground success of Ridiculous Records would eventually catch the attention of then Chameleon / Elektra A&R man Chris Long, who approached Tre with the possibility of bringing the label to a major. Unfortunately after 6 months of talks the deal fell through but Tre and Chris would remain good friends. Tre would later go on to work with Chris at his management firm where they managed multi-platinum alternative rock band, Crossfade on Columbia Records. Following his stint at CLM he would launch his own A&R consulting company where he would assist several noted music attorneys, management companies and indie labels in securing acts and songs for their artist. A long time friend and supporter of hit songwriter B.C. Jean, Tre was one of the first people to pitch her now infamous, multi-platinum selling song "If I Were A Boy" recorded by megastar, Beyonce. Tre often says "If I would have gotten that placement I'd be in Tahiti right now!". In 2011, Tre signed on to A&R a compilation album entitled "R&B Street Anthems" for the historic Street Sounds record label. The album received a 9/10 rating in Blues & Soul Magazine and also charted several singles making the label the only independent to have 5 songs in Music Week's Urban Top 30 for 2 consecutive weeks. Two of the more noticeable talents that Tre introduced on the album, the Disco Fries and John Michael, would go on to achieve chart success. The Disco Fries are now one of the most sought after EDM DJ artist / producers with releases on Ultra Records and Musical Freedom (Tiesto’s label) . John Michael is a recent Top 20 Billboard R&B artist signed to Top Notch Music owned by former Geffen promo exec Marv Mack Tre has also been a long time consultant to popular online Swiss R&B star Sonny Court. Tre’s relationship with Sonny has resulted in several charting singles in the UK and Italy as well as numerous television and film offers. Most recently in 2016 Tre co-wrote his first Christmas song "December 24th (One Night) which has been play-listed by almost every Holiday station that broadcast 365 days a year.
