Personal profile

I am trained jazz and classical musician whose current passion is with an indie rock band called Tiny Purple Fishes. I received a B.A. in Music Studies at The University at Austin and studied at Texas State University for a Masters in Music Performance. I have composed numerous works for variety of settings such jazz quintet, jazz orchestra, rock bands, and singer/song writers. I also have experience leading several types of groups such as brass quintets, jazz combos, rock bands, jazz orchestras, cover bands, concert bands, and wind ensembles. My performance experiences ranges from performing in downtown venues, music festivals, orchestras, and private events.

Tiny Purple Fishes is an independent rock band from Austin, Tx looking to grow its fan base and reach an audience through radio, television, film, blogs, and magazine articles. The band is comprised of four members; Iram Reyes (Trumpet, Vocals, Percussion), Adam Galvan (Lead Vocals and Drums), Abel Galvan (Guitar and Vocals), and Roberto Hernandez (Bass and Vocals). What makes this group unique is the use of the trumpet as a prominent voice. Like a 5th voice to the vocal projection, the trumpet is a key element in the melodic continuity in many of the songs. The band also incorporates many improvised solo sections, which is an art that has been somewhat forgotten in current day rock and roll.
