Song Description
Kitchen Sink is a song that has been performed at dozens of concerts across Poland. During the pandemic, when Michał Sołtan stepped out onto his balcony for 64 consecutive days and sang one song every day, major Polish media outlets, newspapers, television stations, and online platforms took notice. He gained significant popularity during the first lockdown.
The song Kitchen Sink reached around 500,000 views across two Facebook videos. Other performances by Michał from that period attracted as many as 7 million views on Facebook.
It felt like a dream. Yet ever since then, people have kept asking:
"When are you finally going to release it, Michał?"
And Michał's answer has always been the same:
"I'm waiting for the right moment."
Perhaps that moment will finally arrive thanks to a collaboration found through Music2Deal.

Professional Career
Early Years
Michał began his musical career at the age of 13, performing in his own metal band, BattleCry. In 2001, he co-founded the progressive rock band Alter Ego, which later evolved into Alters. In 2006, the group recorded its debut album, MILD (Mnemonic Induction Of Lucid Dreams). He left the band in 2008.
Imagination Quartet
In 2009, together with drummer Maciej Dziedzic, he founded Imagination Quartet, performing as the band's guitarist. The group appeared at numerous jazz festivals, including Krokus Jazz Festival, Jazz Juniors, and Dreszer Jazz Festival.
The quartet performed at the opening of the World Press Photo exhibition in 2010 and embarked on its first concert tour later that year. International appearances followed, including the Copenhagen Jazz Festival in Denmark (2012), JazzFest Berlin in Germany (2013), Jazzmeile Thüringen (2014), and a concert tour across China in 2014.
The band released two albums: IQ (2011) and Mallada (2015). The title track "Mallada" remains one of Michał's most personal compositions, written as a song inspired by love.
Other Projects
Between 2011 and 2019, Michał co-hosted weekly Funk & Jazz Jam Sessions in Warsaw. He also regularly led jam sessions in Sopot and Gdańsk, conducted nearly 80 music workshops titled Release the Music, and hosted the YouTube talk show Musician in Shape.
He is the founder and owner of the independent music label SoltanArtGroup.
Solo Career
Michał launched his solo career in 2015 by appearing on the Polish television talent show Must Be The Music, performing his original song Najlepiej.
In 2017, he released his debut solo album, MaloGranie. The album featured guest appearances by acclaimed musicians including Dante Luciani, Russ Spiegel, and Ireneusz Wojtczak. One of the album's tracks, Dzieje się, qualified for the prestigious Debiuty competition at the Polish National Song Festival in Opole.
The Balcony Concerts
On March 15, 2020, during the first COVID-19 lockdown, Michał performed a song from his balcony as part of a nationwide initiative supporting healthcare workers. What began as a single performance turned into a remarkable project: he performed live from his balcony every day for 60 consecutive days.
These performances attracted widespread media attention and reached millions of viewers online, becoming one of the most recognizable artistic initiatives of the lockdown period in Poland.
In the same year, he released the single Origami Blues, which reached the Polish Radio Program 3 chart.
Recent Work
In 2021, Michał released the singles Zakochaj się and Spacer. In 2022, he launched the concert tour Nie mów nikomu ("Tell No One"), based around the single of the same name, with music composed by Michał and lyrics by Jarosław Maślanka.
In 2023, he participated in the 14th season of The Voice of Poland, reaching the semi-finals as a member of Marek Piekarczyk's team. During the show, he released the single Niespotykani through Universal Music Polska.

While Michał creates music on stage, Malena simultaneously paints a new artwork. The project has been presented at theaters, museums, festivals, and cultural events in Poland and abroad, including performances in Italy.
