Welcome to the Mix Asylum Mastering Service!

Hi, I'm David Jones, a Mixing & Mastering engineer from my studio called Mix Asylum in the UK, and I'm the resident Mastering engineer for Music2deal. I hope you'll find the threads useful, and my aim is to give a professional quality Mastering service to whoever wants it for Music2deal users. Let me give you a brief background on who I am and how I can help take your music to the next level!: I started Mix Asylum in 2014 after graduating from the University of Derby in the UK with a 2:1 BSc degree is Music Technology & Production. Since then I have worked everyday on mixing and mastering techniques to give me a very wide skill base in every musical genre. My main production rig is an SSL Nucleus, which gives genuine analogue warmth and depth. This enables me to develop the analogue sound in every production that I do for artistes. I have a range of plug-ins from various manufacturers and here is a brief overview: Universal Audio - UAD-2 Satellite Duo Custom rig featuring Lexicon Fairchild Ampex Pulsetec Neve SSL Marshall Amps IK Multimedia T-RackS 3 Slate Digital VMR – Virtual Mix Rack SSD 5.5 – Steven Slate Drums 5.5 I have been working with a variety of artistes in many genres from all over the world in my 5 years, be that artistes just starting out on their journey, or artistes who are on the verge of getting signed. My working ethic is that if I can help develop an artistes’ sound then I am flexible and experienced to do so. Please see below for a couple of music profiles, so you can hear the types of sounds I get for people on a regular basis: Soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/mix-asylum Kompoz This is an online community of artistes who contribute to other artistes songs. I have had a profile on there for many years, and all of the music you hear on this page has been either mixed or mastered by me. https://www.kompoz.com/music/artist/MixAsylum https://www.kompoz.com/music/artist/MixAsylum/activity-stream I hope you can hear from the examples given that I always strive to give clarity to any production I do. This is to ensure that sonically the master is balanced and has the depth needed to enhance a song. If you like the sounds I can give and think I can add some of my techniques to your music, please read the “Preparing a Mix for Mastering” thread.
