Went to the Midem website and saw what the prices are for Jan 2024. There seems to be nothing else but verbiage on the mission of the event but no schedule, professional names, businesses that will be presenting, sows or anything of that nature. Does anyone know the particulars?

Hi. Like others, I have tried reaching out but have had zero replies. The elements on the site indicate pretty much the same elements as before: conferences, workshops, a section for start-ups (like the old MidemLab) and what looks like a stronger live section. But ultimately, there is not much on which to make a travel decision.

The prices seems to be high especially as knowbody knows if the re-launch of the MIDEM will be accepted by the professionals.

I have decided to attend in January, and i will be having my scheduled 3 Showcases at the Cotton Club. If members of this group are attending I will also schedule a Networking Dinner. Please let me know if you are thinking about coming.

Having run Canada Dtand there for some 2 decades the proces are high & the badges/accrefitation must be discounted all the way through the event or it is not manageable. They still haven’t understood Midem was built on the backs of the intl indie music sector and the intl export offices - many that sprang from their participation at Midrm. These details were probided in surveys to the city of Cannes tho it seemed the intel was never shared.Very disappointing.

I have received a Discount Code for admissions MIDEM+24ASHA 10% discount at checkout. I will be attending and will have 3 showcases if anyone from this group wants to perform during Midem. Had a phone call today from the USA Midem office saying that the price was reduced to 250 euro and the conference would only be 2 days. There will be public performances all 4 days and I am still having our networking Dinner and 3 Showcases.

I have doubts that the revival of MIDEM will be successful but I would be happy if I am wrong

Giving other music industry companies the ability to find new artists, producers, musicians, projects and publishers. Marketing and advertising companies had a direct impact on the industry. Where is the original database for Midem attendees? There are no sessions on synchronization licensing, digital delivery, digital marketing, video creation, video marketing or promotion. No networking sessions. No publishing sessions or online communication portals weeks prior to the event. No sessions on new technology usage or applications. Too many French connections and no other international information. Where is the music for the attendees? Video received almost 65% of all streaming revenues yet there are no sessions available for streaming video services. Most importantly for an international business conference there was no quiet place to hold meetings between businesses. Missing this year was: Reggae, Calypso, and Island music companies. African House, Afrobeat, Ampiano and traditional music companies, Classical music companies Jazz, Neo-Soul, Lounge and Blues companies & catalogs Music from India Music from China Hip Hop companies International Delegations from countries other than France Finally International artists wish to perform in front of the Midem community, not regulated to a poorly structured and promoted showcase in the Palais.
