Oguz Kaplangi, a prolific musician based in Edinburgh mainly composes for TV, theatre, advertising and big screen productions. His compositions explore a wide array of musical styles. Besides his ethnic-electronic "Istanbul Calling" series he has released 4 theatre soundtracks of theatre plays staged in UK and Turkey. www.oguzkaplangi.com Oguz won the award for the “Best Music and Sound” at the Critics for Theatre in Scotland 2018 (CATS AWARDS) with the music he composed for Zinnie Harris’ adaptation of Ionesco’s famous play Rhinoceros. It was staged at the Royal Lyceum Theatre, in co-production with the Edinburgh International Festival in association with DOT Theatre. In the United States, his music is being used in TV shows including A&E’s Emmy-nominated, “Wahlburgers”, “Donnie Loves Jenny”, “Nightwatch”, “Lock Up”, “Sexy Beasts”, “According To Alex”, “Killer Kids”, “Young Marvels”, “Big Brew Theory” and “Bizarre Foods”. Oguz has worked with CP+B London, Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam, Ogilvy & Mather, Leo Burnett, DDB, BBDO, Saatchi & Saatchi, Thompson, MullenLowe, McCann Erickson and many boutique agencies and film production companies in Istanbul. He has scored for many Turkish box office hits as well as Turkey’s first animation film “Kötü Kedi Şerafettin / Bad Cat”. He has also composed corporate theme music for Turkish national TV channels. Oguz is the owner of “Creatrax” in Edinburgh, “Elec-Trip” in Istanbul and the man behind “Express Jingles”, a library music catalogue represented in many countries.

Elec-Trip is a multifaceted music production company in Istanbul that first came to life in 2002 under the name of Elec-Trip Records.
