Born in 1985, Amanda Friggieri, is a promising singer, lyricist and song-writer who started her musical journey in her late teens. Amanda discovered her voice during the casual karaoke nights with her friends, when strangers used to express their interest in her talent. Friggieri's intention was not to disregard any of those comments and soon started searching for opportunities where she could showcase her voice and start being trained. Having a versatile voice, Amanda has to date worked on several projects focusing on various genres. In fact, not to confuse her audience, Amanda has collated her pop and dance tunes under one page on the well-known MySpace website and has given herself “Amelia” as stage name (www.myspace.com/musicbyamelia). Amelia was Amanda’s first solo project, which kick started with the release of a song written by herself and produced by Elton Zarb & Maddee Dargue, called “A Blind Girl’s Whisper”. The ‘Blind Girl’ quickly brought her luck as after having exposed same, she was offered the opportunity to work as featuring artist on two trance tunes produced in Germany by Producer Daniel Reichow for German DJs, Final Aeon and Drumcomplex. One of these tracks, “Another Place”, has recently been signed by Red Trance Digital and shall be officially released in the coming months. Having heard of her, such an experience was very relevant to a duo of Maltese DJs, Anthony Meachen and Steven Psaila, known as Lost Emotions, when they were searching for the right vocalist to join their project. Lost Emotions & Amelia have to date produced 2 trance tunes entitled “Rain” and “Distant Love”, both of which have been signed by record labels, namely Unearthed Records in the UK and Milk Records in Italy respectively. Amanda Friggieri is currently also acting as vocalist and lyricist in a lounge band called Tact. Launched in October 2010, line up consists of classical guitars, keyboards, bass, drums, herself as singer & lyricist and sometimes also a saxophone. The style is mainly lounge broken down into classical, soul and jazzy tunes; pretty much of a new fusion for this island. Amanda feels that her forte is in soul, jazz and blues vocals; in fact, one can find her material relating to this genre on another MySpace page, (i.e., www.myspace.com/loungebyamelia). Amanda’s main influences remain Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Krall, Patti LaBelle, Nat King Cole, Morcheeba, Beady Belle, Ray Charles, Norah Jones & Elisa.
