This song, 2029 (Twenty Twenty Nine), is about retreating after a broken relationship in order to heal and rebuild oneself. The singer, deeply hurt by a toxic relationship, decides to impose a ‘coma’ on herself – a symbolic sleep to escape the pain. She vows to wake up stronger, freer and renewed. In her imagination – ‘sometime in 2029’ – she has rebuilt her life from the ruins, regained her strength and left her former lover behind for good. It is a powerful, hopeful anthem about survival, healing and emotional rebirth. 2029 is a revised version of my song ‘2025’, which I wrote and recorded for the first time in 2020.
