Taka Joseph is a German-Zimbabwean Singer/Songwriter/Multi-instrumentalist/Producer based in Cologne, Germany. Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Taka was 6 years old when he began singing and playing acoustic guitar. He initially developed a love for pop, rNb & gospel music and played in diverse Church Gospel Bands where at the age of 13 he learned to play piano. He later absorbed a wider variety of genres and was an admirer of Zimbabwean stars like Oliver Mtukudzi, but he was also hip to the American & UK soul & pop artists he discovered though his parent’s Vinyl collection. As a musician, songwriter & producer Taka has worked with and alongside national artists such as Joel Brandenstein, Eloy de Jong, Howard Carpandale, Sasha.... As well as with international artists such as Anastacia, Sam Ryder, Topic, Emma Marone, Zak Abel, Nico & Vinz, Rebecca Ferguson, No Mercy., As a solo artist Taka presents a modern fusion of handmade acoustic soul-pop with analog electronic elements anchored in a gospel foundation, with a hint of traditions borrowed from his Zimbabwean heritage.
