This song deals about the recent sociopolitical conflicts in germany. The experiences and watchings are generalised and transferable from one country and time to another. The narrator tries to live his life, regardless from the opinions of the mainstream and certain movements. The so called "hellhounds" stand for extreme views and fanatic thinking, of which the protagonist is not daunted going his own way. The song "Hellhounds" combines different styles: pop, folk, rock, a little bit country and overall it is groovy ;-)
