A reggae song in the Kölsch dialect would have been almost impossible to perform on Cologne stages back in the last millennium. Now pop music has made its way there. Still, I kept the melody traditional, especially in the chorus, which gives this song a special touch. And the song is an example of how I like to—something that’s done far too rarely in the Cologne scene—express social criticism in a humorous way about many things in life. Here, it’s the excessive use of English in our language…not just in my dialect.
