With all band members originally from England, The Sleeves have been making a noise in Hong Kong’s independent music scene since 2008. They’ve played support slots in Macau for Peaches, Gary Numan and Unkle, and performed at Hong Kong’s 2011 & 2012 Clockenflap Festivals alongside the likes of Primal Scream, Alt X, Bombay Bicycle Club and The Cribs. After formative years writing and rehearsing in a crumbling tower block studio buried deep in the most densely-populated square mile on the planet and gigging in steamy red light district bars, The Sleeves ascended with a debut album of aural life-scapes depicting adolescent afternoons and apocryphal tales of love lost - sometimes bitterly, more often without regret – against a divergent canvas of riffs, fuzz and flashing neon lights.
