In 2023, Cam moved to Manchester, England with his partner at the time. He explains, “the weather was grim, I had no money and we were both stressed out about the change. Even still, there had never been a moment in my life where I had felt more alive. This song is about feeling like you were a passenger in your life and being forced into the driver seat.” Living in the UK and traveling in Europe gave Cam a completely different perspective on life and his music. He goes on to say, “I found this transition caused me to romanticize the things around me - whether that's a bizarre US Veteran telling war stories in Berlin or strangers flirting on a plane. Instead of producing in the relative comfort of my studio in Vancouver, I wrote this song and the rest of the album in a small Airbnb sitting on the ground with a beaten up acoustic guitar.”
