KARI ROBERTSON. Born in Scotland Kari Robertson was raised in Toronto, where she studied voice and theory at the Royal Conservatory of Music. In her early teens she made her singing debut on CBC's. MUSIC HOP. Kari quickly taught herself guitar and began performing as a solo artist. Her appearances on CBC TV and Radio included Bruno Gerussi's AFTERNOON SHOW and David Acomba's SUNDAY MORNING SHOW, WHAT'S NEW with Bruce Marsh and CFTO's LETS SING OUT encouraged her to gain experience with live audiences, foreseeing a successful career for Kari. She made appearances at THE RIVERBOAT and BOHEMIAN EMBASSY in Toronto. Concert tours and folk club engagements in Scotland and a year touring western Canada, provided Kari with enough experience for a lifetime. Returning to Toronto she was featured on the cover of Toronto Telegram's TV Magazine and soon after was asked to be the Cover Girl Spokesperson for HAGSTROM GUITARS. This was eventually to become an Iconic photograph . Her first recording was on the Independent label HERO RECORDS recorded at ZaZa Sound Studios and produced by Paul ZaZa went to number one in several areas in Canada with a small distribution. The cover song AWAY FROM HERE was written by Kari Robertson. Appearances on THE ELWOOD GLOVER SHOW LUNCHEON DATE and a regular spot on the syndicated LIVELY WOMAN SHOW followed. Going back overseas she made many BBC TV and RADIO appearances . Kari toured extensively with well known British names and recording artists from the USA ,including Jim Glaser Kenny Serrat and John Rex Reeves. A three month club date at the exclusive Bahrain Diplomat Hotel on the Persian Gulf, ended her stay abroad. In the years following Kari has played and sung her way across Canada and has produced the recording, ANY MOMENT, ANY DAY All original songs recorded At Pinnacle Studios in Belleville Ontario.
