BORORO, PT. 2 “Bororo, Pt. 2” is an immersive experience of spiritual connection, contemplation and ancestral memory. “Bororo, Pt. 1” originates from a field recording made by Daniel Kau in the Brazilian Amazon, documenting a meditation led by a Bororo shaman — from an Indigenous people of Mato Grosso connected to his family’s ancestry. Around this original recording, Daniel created an immersive musical landscape combining environmental sounds, acoustic textures, synthesizers and contemporary sound design. Rather than reshaping the ritual recording to fit the music, the composition follows the opposite approach: the music creates a sonic space around the original voice, breathing, chants and atmosphere, allowing them to remain at the center of the experience. The result exists somewhere between music, meditation and soundscape. “Bororo, Pt. 1” does not depend on a literal understanding of words. Voice, natural ambience and musical textures become a sensory language of their own, guiding the listener through a contemplative and immersive experience.
