Personal profile

I'm JJ, a German-born freelance bassist & lately also a composer/producer of Originals, meanwhile hailing from Amsterdam, NL. In the past I had been also a semi-pro member/bassist with 2 bands in first Stuttgart, South-Germany & later again with 2 bands now from Amsterdam. Most notable band involvement so far had been gigging for a while with "The JJC Helder Band", a A'dam group around female singer Marlies Helder with a.o. guitarist Joop van Nimwegen (Ex-Q 65/Livin' Blues) and drummer Pierre van der Linden (Ex-Brainbox/Focus) of a certain Dutch Rock Music legacy. In 2005 I also joined the "Boost Band" as bassist. A interesting local multi-cultural project with about +/- 20 other musicians of various backgrounds & nationalities and working on and performing a kind of "World Music" repertoire.

Company profile

Composing, arranging, playing, recording & producing mainly my own instrumental tunes in various Funk-Latin-Jazz-World Beat inspired styles & flavors. Self released my (digital) debut album "Heartland" in 2005. Also I'm interested as bassist in serving my bass playing for recording, sessions (Offline/Remote), eventual live gigs and/or collaborations.
