Personal profile
I first started out in the music industry by assisting with a fundraiser for a very sick baby, where we had a couple of local band, when after the show while talking to a few of the musicians about the lack of publicity and support our South African musicians receive from the South African Music Industry and media. I then decided to start a local music ''newspaper, called SA Music News, with the goal of supporting and promoting our local musicians. The rest is history as they say... It all exploded when we assisted with the Soccer World Cup in 2010, where we covered Freshly Ground and Shakira's "world Cup" song, and the first ever live 3rd performance by The Parlotones at the Nelson Mabdela Square, as well as with the Soccer World Cup School Initiative. I have since then had the privilege of having worked with various South African musicians such as: Chris Chameleon, Arno Carstens, Chianosky, Josie Field, Jmaxx, Lindsey McGuire, Van Coke Kartel, Fokofpolieisekar, The Graeme Watkins Project, Liani May, The Parlotones, Agro, Chix with Stix, Evolver, Sacrifist, The Narrow, DJ Fresh, Roger Goode, Black Cat Bones, Colé van Diaz, Prime Circle, Just Jinger, Jack Parow, WonderBoom, Daniel Baron, Karen Zoid, The SoapGirls, Fuzigish, Freshlyground, Volume Conflict, Mark Stent, Andy Fisher Band, Freshlyground, Die Antwoord, Springbok Nude Girls, Zandre, Cecily, Theunis (Siener) Cronje, Hugh Masekela, Johnny Clegg, Foto Na Dans, Matthys Roets, Elvis Blue Garth Taylor, Axene, Blackbyrd, Craig Hinds (Watershed), Proverb, Casette, Duimpie se Maat, Danny K, aKing, Fokofpolisiekar, Albert Frost, Mel Botes, Goldfish, Locnville, Goodluck, Die Heuwels Fantasies, Steve Hofmeyer, Claire Johnston/Mango Groove, Liezel Marshall Band, The Sondagskoolhelde, The Dixie Hillbillies, SEETHER, Straatligkinders, Die Tuin Dwergies, Valiant Swart, Watershed, Zebra and Giraffe, Sugardrive , Deity’s Muse, Chromium, 11th Hour, Debris, Architecture Of Aggression (A.O.A), Boargazm, Elegy, Only Forever, Autumn Sun, Warthane, Far Beyond Driven, ...and Chaos, Rebuked, The Frail, Fleshwound, Rhutz, Underbelly, Straw, Psordid, Ancient Influence, Juggernaught, Fragmented Children, Terminatryx and Mesadoth, Marimba & Steelpan Festival - Special tribute to Nelson Mandela… just to mention a few…
