International music industry unites at MiCannes gathering 3-6 June 2025 - 29.Nis.2025
MiCannes Programme Director Ben Steadman announced : " It gives me great pleasure to announce The
4th Music International Cannes networking conference (www.micannes.com) 2025 programme will embrace
16 live music artist showcases from UK, EU, Asia, Africa, S.America & USA, 8 topical music industry
specialist panel sessions, a screening programme featuring the music documentary screening of Love
Letter To Vinyl with a live soundtrack performance by DJ Director Chris Bailey followed by a Q&A, Animaze
shorts from Montreal and Japan and animations screening of Scarlett Johansson and Jeff Goldblum's
series of animations and visualisers for the album ’Still Blooming ’with Director @diz_qo, a show & tell of the
Mo Foster documentary Four Strings Good hosted by David Stark (Songlink) and Mark Garfield (Pop-Up
Music) and the 3rd MiCannes awards on the lawns of the Mondrian Cannes".
The showcases take place at Morrison’s off the Rue d'Antibes and downstairs of Da Boutteau at the Cotton
Club in the Suquet area in Cannes Old Town, the latter being held in conjunction with the Atlanta-based
Music Specialist Distribution & organised in conjunction with Allen Johnston and the Screenings at The

The June 4 programme at Morrison's launches 21:00 with French neo-rockers Underground Therapy -
have toured around France for the last year and performed in the X-Cage at Xtreme Fest and will showcase
their 2024 self-released album Burning Tales. Senegalese songstress, Mariaa Siga, spreads her rhythms
and lyrical melodies on the themes of immigration, womanhood and spreads good vibes and joie de vie.
Singaporians, Coming Up Roses, showcase their blend of Indie Alternative rock taking in shoegaze and
dream pop - fragility meets aggression in a space that is textural, melodic, and contemplative.The opening
night then hits party time with a live DJ set from Alonestar, Jethro Sheeran, who promises killer new tunes,
beats grooves and raps..

Fourth edition of the international music networking conference takes place in June.
MiCannes, the music conference and networking event, now in its fourth year, has announced some prestigious industry names for its upcoming panel sessions taking place at the Mondrian Hotel (formerly the Grand) in Cannes, France from June 3rd to 6th 2025.
Ree joined Brett Gurewitz and Lionel Conway as a partner in Mothership. Completing the panel, to be hosted by MiCannes CEO Ian Penman, will be Colin Newman of SRLV, veteran provider of rights management for artists, producers and songwriters; and Chris
Noxx, founder of FNMPG Holdings Inc., an international music rights management platform.
John Saunderson, Head of Creative at Notting Hill Music UK, will be moderating the 'Next Generation A&R' panel which will include Laura Bedikian, Senior A&R for Downtown Music Publishing in France; Gareth Davies, formerly with Rough Trade, V2, PIAS, Kontor Records and now Global Operations Manager with Australian distributor Xelon Digital; and legendary UK A&R man Korda Marshall who in 2022 returned to the Mushroom Group as International Director of the Mushroom Label division’s global operations.
Finally, MiCannes board and committee member Christian Ulf-Hansen of Plan C Management (UK) will be moderating a panel titled 'Managers are the new A&R Developers of Talent' with other names to be announced. Known for his pop-driven hits like I Believe, Feel Alive, and I Hope You End Up Alone (With Me), the 27-year-old took on a new role in 2024 as a coach on The Voice of Germany.
Our expert A&R guru, Richard Rogers, leads the conversation.
Richard Roger: I did think there might be the opportunity there to do both of those. Please both sets of fans.
Kamrad: I think if you make an album of like 12 singles it gets boring. You need two great ones and maybe 10 okay ones and I think there's nothing worse than just an okay single. You need a really great pop song or an indie song. Do you know we do a blues song live? It has a long guitar solo. This is really unexpected for people, it has a long guitar solo and people that hear my songs on the radio would not expect that. It's a really cool moment in the set.
RR: the line ‘I'd rather fall asleep than fall in love’ will I believe (excuse the pun) go down as one of the iconic song lyrics of the 2020s decade. When you were growing up, what were the sort of lyrics and artists that you were really into, those that really inspired you?
K: well, you wouldn't expect it but in fact, I grew up with the Beatles so the Beatles. That was the first thing that was music for me maybe for like 5, maybe 10 years of me growing up.
RR: through your parents?
K: yeah through my dad. So I know every lyric and every song but as time moved on, I got more into the current pop music, so I feel that someone like Ed Sheeran was an artist that …

Richard Rogers: Nice to meet you Kamrad. Music2deal is an online music platform for the music industry. It is to connect people involved with music in whichever area they are working within. As for the platform itself, well, think of a Facebook for the music industry. Getting bands online, bands working with producers. Writers working with other writers, collaborations etc.
Kamrad: it makes a lot of sense actually, I get it. It is (music) after all the most consumed thing in the world after food, I believe. You can obviously connect to a lot of people. different people in different cities and it’s hard to reach them so if you have a platform and a global connection then I think it’s really good.
RR: well we just started a Music2deal online map so that you can find people online and where they are from.
K: that’s really nice.
RR: actually from Music2deal I worked with a band from Munster in the north of Germany. Well, Emsdetten actually.
K: I’ve not actually been there but I’ve heard about it on the radio. Particularly when they talk about the traffic and at some point they say Emsdetten. Laughs.
RR: do you have a team of A&R people around you that you work with or is it a single person or do they (the record company) just let you get on with the A&R?
K: well it’s actually a bit of all of it. Like I have one A&R Annie, the main A&R (at the record company), but we’re working with .....
