Josiah Ndlovu popularly known as George Phahlane is a composer, guitarist, vocalist and Song writer from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. He was born 27 July 1957. He cofounded a band called Ebony Sheikh in 1980 as the band's Composer, vocalist and lead guitarist. He specialises mostly in Afro Jazz.

Ebony Sheikh was a 9 member band founded in 1980. The band has since released 5 albums, Ntabezikude being the latest released in 2017 by surviving members, George Phahlane, Doctor 'Doko' Phahlane (Drummer/Composer) and Siphathisiwe 'Phathi' Ncube (Vocalist/Composer) The band has shared the stage with numerous artist such as UB40, Gregory Isaacs, Oliver Mtukudzi and Busi Ncube to mention a few.
