Ajiesh was born and raised in Thrissur, Kerala, India. He did his primary schooling at Holy Family School and St Mary’s School, and completed his secondary education at Model Boys School and St Thomas College respectively, after which he dedicated himself fully to music. He is a seasoned music director and instructor, and has donned the roles of programmer, recordist, sound engineer, guitarist and sitarist, among others. He was a member of the devotional Rex band, one of the best in Asia, from 1997-2003. He has successfully run his music school, David School of Music, since 2001, where students are prepared for ABRSM, LCM and RSL international graded music exams. He also founded and is a member of the band Soulz, from 2012-present. When it comes to musical instruments, Ajiesh is quite versatile. With stringed instruments, his expertise lies in classical sitar; classical, acoustic and bass guitar; the violin and the piano. In the case of percussion instruments, he is adept at drums. He is also a talented singer, specializing in western singing. Ajiesh’s work experience is formidable- he started working as early as 1994 by providing home tuitions in musical instruments, and over the years his career has evolved to include various roles that speak volumes about his talent for teaching. Over a period of more than 20 years, he has served as music instructor in 14+ schools, including premier institutions such as Hari Sri Vidya Nidhi School, Sandeepani Vidya Nikethan, Symphony School of Music, IES School, Crescent Public School, Don Bosco School, Carmel High School and Evans School of Music. He has also taken up various specific projects to train individual students in their performances for school, district and state-level cultural competitions. Ajiesh has an extensive understanding of music in its theoretical, pedagogical and performance aspects, and has explored the world of music as a composer, performer, All India Radio-Graded Artist, instructor and a designer of his own instrument, the Sigtar- a combination of the Sitar and the Guitar.
