Hangvető is a common platform for independent artists and labels. It initially gained recognition as a distributor and an organizer of special events, but the winds of change have brought diversification and newer directions include more assistance for artists with live gigs, touring and copyright administration. From its headquarters in Budapest, Hangvető continues to be one of the largest distributors of Hungarian roots music, facilitating exposure for independent artists and small labels. Hangvető also firmly supports continuous networking and, working closely with Forum Foundation and others, has recently embarked on its latest innovative venture, East European Networking Initiative (EENI) to promote improved contacts between this region and the wider world.
