Hi Sudhir, I'm fascinated of Indian music, but maybe I have the wrong idea about it. I love the mixture of modern rhythms with traditional Indian tunes. What are the points for Western musicians to make music for your people likable? Best wishes from Hamburg/Germany - Christine

Hey Christine, you are idea of the most likeable music in India is CORRECT (assuming you are speaking for the masses in India and not the classes). Most Indians also like music which has modern rhythms and Indian tunes fused well. Thanks to the invasion of BOLLYWOOD! Electronica is the newest fad in India. Especially if Indian instruments like the traditional flute, sitar, tabla, etc are fused well in it. If you can try and fuse some Indian Vocals (raagas, aalaaps, etc) would be great. Check out PRODIGY's - Smack My Bitch up (REMIX) with Shaheen Badar's aalap in it. It was a huge hit in India. Try giving a hear to trance which evolved out of Goa. Do write in here with any other queries you may have and I will be glad to help you out.

Hi Sudhir,
sounds like a very interesting way of making music. What a voice!
Trance is one of my favourites as well, my cubase coach is DJ Feuerhake, Trance specialist. I'm experimenting with mixing different styles (f. ej. overtone with funk and rhytmic voice) and I think, as the world is getting smaller every day thanks to internet etc., we will be inspired more and more from each other.
Thanks a lot and have a nice day!

Hi Sudhir,
Nice topic. I'm just wondering if hip hop are acceptable in India market. We have many urban musicians willing to go on international tour and i am thinking if India can be one of the country to tour.
Hope to read from you soonest.

Take a look at this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7boy31WejI&feature=fvsr
This one was India's love with HIP HOP. Its a Hindi Bollywood song but one from the Hip Hop genre that ruled Indian chartbusters on NO.1 for 20 weeks. :-)
Indians love Hip Hop music. And we love it more so if there is collaboration with Indian artists.
For your tour - I would suggest the huge college circuit of India. Do cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Delhi. If you play it right, you will cover more than 100,000 audience.
Let me know if you need any help.
- Sudhir
