Personal profile
Over the past decade, Wilson Shaw has cemented his name in London's music scene, with remarkable achievements including performing twice to crowds of 10,000 at London Pride in the iconic Trafalgar Square, and collaborating with renowned milliner Philip Treacy, notably at a Harrods showcase. Shaw has also DJed for Vivienne Westwood's environmental campaigns 'Cool Earth' and 'Save the Bees', and served as the exclusive DJ for Sorapol, a prominent East London couture fashion label, for three consecutive years at their live showcases. Shaw's initial foray into the London music industry began with a DJ residency at Ku Bar near Leicester Square, where he honed his skills three nights a week over a period of three years. Since then, he has held prestigious residencies and guest appearances at renowned West End clubs including The Box, Sanctum Hotel, and the W Hotel. Shaw's DJ style is characterized by a blend of vocal house infused with remixes of commercial chart-toppers, coupled with a love for introducing explosive mashups of hits from the past four decades. This distinct style has led to memorable performances, such as DJing for Kate Moss' birthday, sharing the stage with Andy Bell of Erasure, and performing alongside Boy George. In addition to his DJing expertise, Shaw is a professionally trained music producer and has had the privilege of working with legendary drag artist, Ru Paul. His versatile talent extends to creating bespoke arrangements for private events, notably for London Fashion Week. After successfully completing the Advanced Mixing and Mastering Award at Point Blank during the COVID pandemic, Shaw has had the delight of working with his teen idol - Oscar nominee Kim Krizan. A strong advocate for the power of music as a vehicle for social impact, he infuses his work with stark and challenging philosophy. and the contrasts inherent in living with a disability. His current focus is on releasing an album 10 years in the making that serves as a vocal protest against oppressed gay men becoming the oppressors and the potentially deadly dystopian future that billions could face due to the lack of accountability of current political leadership.
