Global Goodwill Ambassador [GGA] & Cultural Ambassador for India: Mrs Maitreyee Sarcar HF FRSA Maitreyee Sarcar got married to Sistachar Sarcar and migrated to UK in March 1968. Since ‘70s while she was working full time in an administrative/secretarial/supervisory capacity for various private firms she spent her leisure hours for cultural activities on a voluntary basis. Maitreyee is the Co-Founder, Founding Secy, former General Secretary, first Patron Member, first Life Member, the former Director and Company Secretary of Surdhwani [Co. Ltd by Guarantee], UK. She has been the Co-Producer and Co-Presenter of Surtarang [Wave of Melody] Broadcast since 4 April 2007 to date via www.wcrfm.com and now via www.gorgeousfm.com/gold. Resume:- Honours & Awards Maitreyee was elected an Honorary Fellow of the University of Wolverhampton in recognition of her outstanding contribution to Surdhwani, Society for Promotion of Asian Arts & Culture in September 2002; She was elected an FRSA [Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts] for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce in December 2005; She is also a former director of the Newhampton Arts Centre in Wolverhampton. She received a Special Award on the International Women’s Day Celebrations given by Women of Wolverhampton [WoW] at the Civic Hall, Wolverhampton for her outstanding voluntary contributions to Surdhwani for over 19 years in March 2006. Maitreyee received “Glory of India” Award from the IIFS (Indian International Friendship Society) in recognition of her excellence in being proactive and instrumental in strengthening the Indo-British ties in June 2008. Nominated as a “Woman of the Year 2008” for her outstanding cultural work for over 21 years, in October 2008. She attended the Celebration at the Guild Hall, London. Maitreyee was selected for the “Gem of India Award” & Certificate of Excellence, from IIFS in May 2009. She was also nominated as an "Ambassador of Peace" by United Minds for Peace Society [UMFPS]; and was appointed as an Executive Committee member of UMFPS, UK, in May 2009. On 14 Feb 2010 @ Kalamandir, Kolkata, Maitreyee received the "World Peace Music Promoter Award" for her significant contributions in promoting Indian classical music in the European countries. Her efforts have been cited as an illustrious contribution towards World Peace through Music over the last thirty years. In June 2010 IIFS (INDIA INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY) has selected Mrs Maitreyee Sarcar HF FRSA for the "Global Indian Achievers Award" & Certificate of Excellence. The letter stated: "Mrs Maitreyee Sarcar HF FRSA has etched her own distinct identity-socially and economically by the virtue of her own excellence. In the Indian context she has been proactive and instrumental in strengthening the Indo - British ties and encouraging foreign investments in Indian projects and thus, contributing to the economic growth of India." The Certificate of Excellence stated: “Mrs Maitreyee Sarcar HF FRSA received the Certificate of Excellence for her Individual Excellence in recognition of Sterling Merit, Excellent Performance and Outstanding contribution for the progress of the nation and worldwide.” On Saturday the 25th of September I went to attend the Award Ceremony at the Crown Plaza Hotel in London to receive "The Global Indian Achiever's Award" & Certificate of Excellence. It was presented to me by the Chief Guest, the Rt Hon'ble Baroness [Sandip] Verma, FRSA, Baroness-in-waiting Minister for International Development, Minister for Equalities and Women and The Whip for the Cabinet Office, House of Lords [UK]. Maitreyee Sarcar is also members of 'World Indian Art' & 'The World Community'. She is associated with IndiaWorld CulturalForum [IWCF], New Delhi. On the 5th of November 2017 Maitreyee was nominated as a Global Goodwill Ambassador via LinkedIn. On the 22nd of November '17 Maitreyee received a badge from the Founder and the President of Global Goodwill Ambassadors, Stanford University, USA.
