Personal profile
From 1998 to-date Alex Cortiz (Aad De Mooy) has produced 13 albums of deep vibin’ grooves with elements of nu jazz, cinematic dub, soulful blaxploitation, lush bossa nova and chilled deep house. Alex has now become one of the leading producers in nu relax and funky chill out musical generes & is often likened to artists such as Kruder & Dorfmeister, Air, Nor Elle, Audio Lotion, Dj Cam and the prominent downtempo producer Afterlife aka Steve Miller. When digging deeper into the origins of the Alex Cortiz's musical career we find that his roots lie in international dance music from as far back as 1990, when Alex produced one of the first worldwide techno club hits under his other persona 'D-Shake' with Yaaah / Technotrance. After that Alex found further success with a.o. Paradise 3001 (ambient techno) and Flygang (disco). Following those releases, the producer & persona of Alex Cortiz took over on a full time basis & is therefore the more commercially well known persona out of Aad de Mooy's various 'stage names'.
